Join us for the opening reception of the Brooklyn Art Studios 1st Annual Group Exhibition, kicking off the Brooklyn Art Studios Fall 2010 Open Studios weekend, featuring paintings, video / sound installations, and mixed-media work by the artists of BAS.

Brooklyn Art Studios and Yashar Gallery are hosting the 2nd annual Open Studios event on the weekend of October 2nd and 3rd, 2010. Over 70+ artists in two buildings working in a variety of media will open their doors to the public, and Yashar Gallery will present a salon style group exhibition of the artists of BAS. Art, music, refreshments, performances, film screenings...

“Lizard King” (2010) by Kim Luttrell
In her current series, Artist Kim Luttrell creates striking images of rock stars and Hollywood icons.

A trained graphic designer originally from Kentucky, artist Kim Luttrell moved to New York in 1991 and has expanded her oeuvre to include bold, striking paintings. Her latest series focuses on rock music legends and Hollywood celebrities. Among the vivid pieces is “Lizard King” (above, 2010), an acrylic on canvas illustrating musician and songwriter Jim Morrison, the late lead singer of the classic 1960s band The Doors.
