David Sena is currently in Rome, Italy, and will be doing a performance piece with his fire drawings on Wednesday, May 26th, at ROMA - The Road to Contemporary Art Fair 2010. He will be creating a live drawing measuring 5 x 9 feet as part of the BangArt Magazine party during the international art fair. The event will be completely documented on video and on view at http://www.senaspace.com soon, along with additional videos and new fire drawings and tattoos.

Texture Garden: Flora Series is a group of textural, mixed-media, floral paintings by Carla E. Reyes, exploring the cycles of nature and the human desire to capture and possess it. All of the paintings are inspired by actual images of man-made objects that were created from a variety of materials (clay, metal, stone, etc.) depicting a floral motif, set in a natural environment and undergoing the natural and chemical processes of aging and weathering. Carla’s artwork explores the color, texture, and character of natural and man-made surfaces, particularly in a state of change or interaction; which she finds both profound and beautiful. Flowers in particular, are cherished objects of nature that humans seek to preserve, but their seasonal appearance in nature, and short life span in unnatural environments, remind us of the fleeting and precious nature of existence. The work is meant to bring attention to the cycles of life, nature, and change, and the beauty of the processes that take place at any given moment.
